One thing I’ve realised over the last few months is that my monthly goals have become less about productivity and more about paying attention to the life I actually want to be living.
A year ago I’d probably have filled this list with book counts, review targets and blogging schedules.
Now?
I mostly want to make sure I’m reading, enjoying myself, and leaving enough space for the things that make me smile.
Looking back, June felt like a really good month.
I finished three books, which felt like a comfortable pace rather than something I was chasing. I didn’t blog quite as much as I’d planned, but I did share a few updates, and I’m learning that sometimes living life has to come before documenting it.
Outside of books, I’ve completely fallen back in love with Palia. It’s become part of my evening routine again, and I’d forgotten how much I enjoy simply wandering around, gathering, decorating and chatting to villagers.
I’ve also been playing tennis nearly every week, started swimming again, and absolutely embraced grass court season. Wimbledon always feels like the beginning of summer for me, and I can’t wait to spend the next couple of weeks watching far too much tennis.
So July isn’t really about changing direction.
It’s about continuing.
I’d love to finish another three or four books, finally make some progress on the ever-growing currently reading pile, share a little more here and on Instagram, and generally keep making time for the hobbies that have made the last month feel so full.
Sometimes growth isn’t about doing more.
Sometimes it’s about recognising what’s already making you happy and giving yourself permission to keep choosing it.
Here’s to another month of books, tennis, cosy games and hopefully a little sunshine.
