Hi, I’m Cassie and welcome to ‘A Dream In My Hands’

I love reading, I love talking about the books I read, and that pretty much sums up the whole site really. Just me, talking about the books I’ve read, the books I’m reading and the books I want to read.

Here you’ll find my attempts at book reviews, pages documenting my to-read pile, the books I have checked out the library, lists of books I’d like to read, book-lists that intrigue me and… other things as I think of them and add them. I’m only just starting so I’m sure more will get added over time.

Due to various reasons, including mental health and COVID, over the last couple of years, I’ve not been reading as much as I used to. There was a time I was reading 70 books a year. The last couple of years, I’ve barely been reading 15. I knew I wanted to do something about it. I wanted to read more again. I missed reading.

I fell into booktok (the book area of TikTok) at the back end of last year, and found people making book journals. I was super excited by the idea and with the help of my girlfriend, set one up for myself. Any excuse for some new stationery, right? So I got myself a gorgeous orange dot grid Rhodia A5  journal, some new fineliner pens and some colouring pencils and have started setting it up.

But then I thought ‘ohh why don’t I also do it online’

And that, dear reader, is why I started this site!
